Xplornet Communications is increasing additional into the prairie provinces with its latest acquisition of Swift High Speed, a Manitoba-based broadband supplier.

According to the press launch, Xplornet will achieve 6,000 prospects throughout rural southeastern Manitoba, 218 km of fibre optic community, and 119 broadcast tower places within the deal.

The acquisition is a part of Xplornet’s ongoing plan to bulk up its 5G community and infrastructure in rural Manitoba.

In May 2021, the web service supplier bought over 160 cell towers within the province, with one other two towers launched in February.

Xplornet itself is headquartered in New Brunswick, and focuses particularly on delivering high-speed web to rural elements of Canada.
