Telus is investing $8 million in Minganie and within the North Shore area in Quebec to increase its PureFibre and 5G networks.

The Vancouver-based nationwide provider will deploy its 5G expertise to greater than 10 further communities within the Lower North Shore and within the Manicouagan, Minganie and Sept-Rivières RCMs, along with Baie-Comeau and Sept-Îles.

Telus may even deploy its PureFibre community within the RCM (regional county municipality) of Minganie to achieve almost 2,500 further households and companies in Havre-Saint-Pierre, Mingan (Ekuanitshit) and Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan by September 2022.

“We are making the future friendly by putting our technology at the service of our communities,” stated Marie-Christine D’Amours, the vice-president of Telus’ client options and buyer expertise in Quebec, in an announcement.

“As 5G technology evolves, it will make our cities smarter and greener, transform agriculture, improve health care, and accelerate the potential of smart homes and autonomous vehicles.”

Further, the provider is extending its 4G LTE community by including new telecommunications websites in Mingan (Ekuanitshit) and Port-Menier in 2022.
