The federal authorities is investing $50 million to deliver high-speed web to the Centre-du-Québec area in Quebec.

The undertaking will likely be funded below the Canada–Quebec Operation High Speed initiative and goals to deliver connectivity to over 7,000 households within the area.

Cogeco will obtain $14.4 million to attach 2,600 households, for a undertaking with a complete worth of $17.1 million. Sogetel will obtain $24.2 million to offer protection to 4,330 households. The complete worth of the undertaking is $33 million.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that connecting all Quebecers to high-speed internet has never been more important,” mentioned Joël Lightbound, the parliamentary secretary to Public Safety Minister Bill Blair in a press release.
