AMD to launch the Radeon RX 6700 XT on third March

AMD has revealed a teaser for Where Gaming Begins Episode 3 through its official Radeon RX Twitter account. The blurb and accompanying GIF animation doesn’t give lots away aside from confirming it’ll use this platform to “reveal the latest addition to the @AMD  Radeon RX 6000 graphics family,” and there can be a lower-tier twin fan reference design at launch. This is clearly the broadly rumoured and leaked RX 6700 XT. However, the singular ‘addition’ talked about implies that we can’t get to see a reveal/launch of the Radeon RX 6700 (non-XT) right now – or I could possibly be studying between the strains too obsessively…

In the highest picture of this text, and our headline, you’ll be able to see that Where Gaming Begins Episode 3 is scheduled for a subsequent Wednesday at 11am ET (4pm UK time). It could also be that AMD has ready this date intentionally to sap pleasure from the official launch of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 12GB (later in the present day).

The AMD occasion announcement Tweet animation reveals a smaller twin fan reference design this time round. It is not an unpleasant design, and as reviewers did not discover fault with the same type triple fan reference coolers on the RX 6800 / XT fashions there isn’t any motive to suspect that this dual-fan shroud is just not satisfactory for the smaller GPU.

Officially we have no trace of the specs of the RX 6700 XT, however there have been quite a few leaks that time to the next:A small Navi 22 XT RDNA2 GPU with 40 CUs and 2560 stream processors, 12GB of 192-bit GDDR6 reminiscence, and a TDP of approx 200W. The RX 6700, in the meantime, can have a few snips to that spec and are available in at approx 150W TDP.

The new AMD Radeon RX 6000 playing cards are anticipated to go toe-to-toe with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3060 12GB. Hopefully they are going to have acceptable ranges of availability.

What do you think?
